In Islam, love between husband and wife is considered a blessing from Allah. But every marriage, no matter how strong, goes through highs and lows.
In those moments, turning to Allah with sincere dua can help restore peace, deepen love, and bring back the feeling of comfort in each other’s presence.
One of the most powerful duas for love between spouses comes directly from the Quran.
This verse asks Allah to make our spouses and children a source of joy but also asks for our family to be guided and become an example for others. It’s a dua that covers love, harmony, and purpose all in one.
Dua for Love Between Husband and Wife
This beautiful dua is from Surah Al-Furqan (25:74) in the Quran.

The phrase “qurrata a’yun” means coolness of the eyes, a phrase used in Arabic to describe something that brings joy and deep satisfaction to the heart.
We are praying for a household filled with love, mercy, and guidance. The second part of the dua goes further—it asks Allah to make us leaders for the righteous. That means living by good values, setting examples of kindness and patience, and raising a family that inspires others.
This dua can be recited by both husbands and wives. Whether you’re newly married or have been together for years, these words carry the power to heal misunderstandings, rekindle affection, and renew your bond with each other.
Why is this Dua Significant?
This dua reminds us that real love is more than just romance. It’s about peace, trust, and mutual respect. Asking Allah for this kind of love shows that you’re not only interested in feeling good at the moment, but also in building something lasting and meaningful.
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a’yunin wa aj’alna lil-muttaqina imama.
“Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”
(Quran 25:74)
The beauty of this prayer is that it doesn’t just ask for a peaceful marriage—it also focuses on the next generation. It includes a plea for righteous children, showing that the strength of a marriage isn’t just between two people, but also in the family they build together.
How many times should you recite this dua?
- Recite it regularly after your daily prayers, especially Fajr and Isha.
- You can also say it together with your spouse during peaceful moments or before bed, making it a shared prayer for love and unity.
Making this dua a daily habit can slowly help mend emotional distances and increase understanding. It’s a gentle way to invite blessings into your relationship.
Let this dua be part of your love story. Whisper it during quiet moments, write it on a note for your spouse, or simply hold it in your heart during difficult days. It’s more than just words; it’s a connection to the One who can bring hearts together in ways nothing else can.
A strong marriage starts with a sincere prayer. So don’t wait for things to fall apart—ask Allah now to bless your bond, guide your hearts, and make your home one of love, peace, and righteousness.
