Indonesian President Performs Umrah and Entered the Kaaba

Makkah, Saudi Arabia – July 3, 2025: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, joined by several members of the Cabinet Merah Putih to perform Umrah.

President Prabowo’s trip began with a diplomatic meeting with the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah.

After concluding these official discussions, he traveled to Makkah to carry out his religious duties.

Photos posted on his official X account. One image shows him and his entourage near the Kaaba, a cube-shaped structure covered with a black and gold Kiswah fabric.

Another picture captures a pilgrim touching the Black Stone, a key ritual in Umrah and Hajj.

Later on the President entered the Kaaba—a rare privilege typically extended only to a select group, such as custodians or specially invited dignitaries by Saudi authorities.

Access to the Kaaba’s interior is an extraordinary honor, usually reserved for high-profile figures under stringent conditions, and is not part of the standard pilgrimage experience for most visitors.
