Sheikh Dr. Bandar bin Abdulaziz Baleelah, Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, landed in Pristina today to commence an official visit organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs in coordination with the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques.
He was welcomed at the airport by Kosovo’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Naim Trnava; Sheikh Amer Al-Anzi, Religious Attaché at the Saudi Embassy; and senior officials of the Islamic Community of Kosovo.

Accompanying Sheikh Baleelah is Sheikh Muhammad bin Usamah Khayyat, Deputy President for Imams and Muezzins Affairs.
During his stay, Sheikh Baleelah will meet local scholars to discuss religious education and community outreach, visit historic Islamic centers such as the Sultan Mehmet Fatih Mosque, and lead Friday prayers at Pristina’s main mosque, where his sermon will emphasize unity and tolerance.
His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques, praised the visit as a strategic effort to share the Haramain’s values of peace, knowledge, and service with global Muslim communities.
Launched in 2024, the Imams of the Haramain Global Visit Program dispatches senior mosque scholars around the world to reinforce diplomatic and religious bonds, champion Saudi initiatives on moderation, and support Islamic education.
Kosovo’s predominantly Muslim population and its growing network of Islamic institutions make it a key stop on this international outreach.
