UNICEF, the United Nations agency focused on children’s rights, has reported that more than 400,000 children in Lebanon have been displaced from their homes in the span of just three weeks due to ongoing conflict.
Many of these children, alongside their families, have sought refuge with relatives, while others have found temporary shelter in schools.
The war, which is reportedly targeting Hezbollah, has severely impacted the country’s infrastructure.
UNICEF highlighted that 1.2 million children no longer have access to education, as numerous public schools have either been damaged or repurposed as shelters for displaced families.
The violence has claimed over 2,300 lives, with Lebanese sources reporting that 100 children were among the dead and around 800 injured.
