Australia has officially announced that Monday, March 12 will be the first day of Ramadan. Australia is the first country in the world to announce the arrival of Ramadan.
The Grand Mufti of Australia confirmed the announcement:
The announcement was further confirmed in cooperation with the Federal Council of Imams, the Australian Fatwa Council, and the Council of Fatwa and Sharia Arbitration.

Australia is located in the eastern hemisphere and is ahead in time zones compared to many countries. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia also announced the start of Ramadan today, the announcement of Saudi Arabia came almost hours later than Australia.
