Under Saudi 2030 Vision, the decision aims to reach 30 million pilgrims annually.

A Saudi official said it is permissible to make Umrah or a minor pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia even with a tourist visa.

Abdul Tahman Shams, an undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, said that anyone coming to Saudi Arabia, whether for tourism or work, or business, can perform Umrah.

People holding the following visas can perform Umrah now:

  • Personal Visit Visa
  • Family Visit Visa
  • Business Visit Visa
  • Tourist Visa
  • Extension of Exit/Re-Entry Visa
  • Premium Residency Visa
  • Government Visa
  • Diplomatic Missions & Organizations
  • Diplomatic & Official Visas
  • Hajj and Umrah Visa
  • Companion Visa
  • Employment Visa
  • Newborn Visa
  • Residence Visa

He told Saudi television Al Ekhbariya that the preferred appointment for undertaking Umrah is booked using the app Eatmarna.

A Saudi official said the decision aims to reach 30 million Umrah pilgrims annually as part of the Saudi 2030 Vision.

The Saudi 2030 Vision aims to diversify the kingdom’s oil-dependent economy with an ambitious development plan.

Soon after the annual Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia ended on July 30, the new Umrah season began.

Saudi officials estimate that a new season of Umrah pilgrims is expected to exceed 10 million.
