Saudi Arabia Starts Charging 4 Saudi Riyals For Using Makkah Bus

The Makkah bus, which was previously free, will now cost pilgrims SAR 4.

MAKKAH – The RCMC (Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites) which comes under the GTC (General Transport Center) has announced that it will start charging 4 Saudi Riyals (SAR) from pilgrims who avail themselves of the Makkah Bus Project on November 1, 2023.

RCMC officially launched the project on Sunday after a successful service trial. Launching the service will make the previously free service pay.

The ticket is introduced to cover the cost of the contractual services required to make the project work. RCMC also announced they will introduce pricing for different categories within different time frames to cater to every benefit.

The Makkah Bus Project has facilitated almost 100 million pilgrims. The ticket price will help the organization further improve its services. Makkah Bus Service has 12 routes through the city of Makkah.
