In the early 1980s, Fatah migrated to Canada from Pakistan, where he was born in 1949. During his time in Canada, he was a political activist, a journalist and a TV host, as well as the author of several books, including ‘Chasing a Mirage: The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State’ and ‘The Jew is Not My Enemy: Unveiling the Myths that Fuel Muslim Anti-Semitism’.

It was seen that he made fun of Islam, Hijab, and protests being held by Muslim women;

There was a large social media following for Fatah, who had a progressive view of Islam, shown in his fiery stance on Pakistan and his progressive views on Islam. His views also led to him being threatened by radical forces as a result of them.
