On Monday, the Saudi Press Agency reported that the Madinah Health Cluster has rolled out two advanced medical capsules in the Prophet’s Mosque. Named “Tabah” and “Tibabah,” these AI-powered capsules are equipped to identify chronic diseases, perform rapid tests, monitor vital signs, and conduct electrocardiograms.

They are also linked to the Seha Virtual Hospital, ensuring that specialized medical support is readily available.

Operating alongside established facilities such as Al-Salam Endowment and Al-Haram hospitals, these capsules have expanded the range of healthcare services at the mosque. During peak hours, trained medical staff operate the capsules, serving more than 576 patients daily.

This initiative highlights a successful partnership between the government and private sectors, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve healthcare outcomes for millions of pilgrims.

In a related development, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Madinah recently demonstrated their rapid response capabilities.

Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani, director of the Authority’s regional branch, explained that the Medical Transfer Center received a call via the 997 hotline regarding a man in his 60s experiencing severe chest pain at the Prophet’s Mosque. An advanced care team was dispatched immediately, conducted an electrocardiogram, and diagnosed an acute heart attack.

The on-duty physician then activated the Cardiac Attack pathway protocol, enabling the patient to be transferred to the cardiac catheterization lab at Hayat National Hospital via a dedicated route in just 56 seconds.

Dr. Al-Zahrani emphasized that this swift and coordinated response was crucial in preventing complications and ensuring a positive outcome for the patient.

With the introduction of these AI-powered medical capsules, healthcare services at the Prophet’s Mosque have reached a new level of efficiency and responsiveness, ensuring that pilgrims receive timely and effective medical care during their spiritual journey.
