Makkah authorities have increased housing capacity ahead of Hajj 2025, with approved accommodations now able to accommodate up to 1.8 million pilgrims.

The Makkah Mayoralty has issued 3,161 operational permits covering 429,232 certified rooms that meet strict safety and comfort standards for the pilgrimage season.

Authorities have implemented strict entry regulations, prohibiting all visa holders except those with official Hajj permits from entering or remaining in Makkah since April 29.

The Ministry of Hajj has warned that remaining in Makkah without proper authorization constitutes a legal violation.

Last year’s Hajj saw 1.8 million participants, including 1.6 million international pilgrims. Saudi officials anticipate similar numbers for Hajj 2025, which is expected to begin in early June.

All approved accommodations have undergone rigorous inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety, sanitation, and accessibility standards. The Mayoralty has deployed additional monitoring teams to enforce regulations throughout the Hajj period.
