The Royal Court has announced that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has called for the performance of Salat al-Istisqa (rain-seeking prayer) throughout the Kingdom on Thursday, 24 Sha’ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 12, 2026.
The directive, issued through an official Royal Court statement, invites Muslims across Saudi Arabia to join in this prophetic practice, humbly seeking Allah’s mercy and the blessing of rainfall.
It is the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during times of drought and is traditionally performed in congregation with deep humility and supplication.
At the Two Holy Mosques, the prayer will be led by two distinguished imams. At the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Juhany will lead the Istisqa prayer at 7:08 AM.
At the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Bari Al-Thubaity will lead the congregation at 7:12 AM.
