Mohamed Boulabiar started preparing for his journey two years before his departure.
It took Boulabiar to spend 8 months of continuous walking to perform Umrah, walking more than 8,000 kilometers starting from Paris and crossing 13 countries to reach Madinah, from where he advanced walking to Makkah.
Mohamed Boulabiar was born in France to a Moroccan mon and a Tunisian dad, he said the biggest challenge he faced while making his journey toward Saudi Arabia was the weather, thunder, and heat that made the journey tough for him.
He added he faced temperatures above 40 Celcius but in the end, everything went smoothly. He added that it was his childhood dream to visit Madinah, just like Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his companions (R.A.).
He started walking from the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France on August 27, 2023.
He started from France, journeying through Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Greece, Turkiye, and Jordan, before finally reaching Saudi Arabia.
He took 25 kg of weight with him along his route including food, daily life essentials, and the map.
During his journey, he spent nights inside the mosques that came along his way.
