New Carpets in Riaz Ul Jannah Changed for Ramadan 2024

Al Rawdah carpets were replaced in the two Holy Mosques for Ramadan.

The two grand mosques in Saudi Arabia, also known as Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid An-Nabwi, are the holiest place for Muslims in Islam. It is also the pilgrimage destination for millions of Muslims every year.

It contains the Kaaba, a sacred cubical structure believed to have been built by the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Ismail (Ishmael).

Al-Rawdah is a prominent area in the mosque complex, where the Prophet Muhammad is said to have led many prayers.

Carpets have always been a signature standard in Islamic tradition. They not only feel comfortable under the feet of Muslim prayers to perform their devotion and create a serene and inviting atmosphere. The carpets are also a testament to respect and appreciation for the holy site in the Grand Mosque.

The holy month of Ramadan is a time of intense spiritual reflection and devotion for Muslims worldwide. To prepare for this special month, the general authority for the affairs of the two holy mosques undertakes various tasks to ensure that the mosque is in ideal condition for prayers. Among these preparations, new carpets are installed.

The carpets were previously replaced in 2018, and this year’s replacements are expected to be more durable and last longer.

The carpets will be made of high-quality materials, and the colors will be traditional Islamic designs. The carpets are expected to be ready before the start of the holy month.

The carpets will be hand-woven and will feature intricate patterns and designs. The carpets will also be cleaned and disinfected regularly to ensure that the pilgrims have a clean and safe environment to pray in.

These carpets are made in Saudi Arabia, they are 16 millimeters thick and made up of special fiber. These carpets are strong and can withstand heavy human loads without tearing. These carpets are moss green in color and go through several washing operations during the year.
