Sheikh Dr. Maher Al-Muaiqly will lead the Eid al-Adha prayer for the year 1446 AH (2025) at the Masjid al-Haram, Islam’s holiest mosque in Makkah at 5:52 AM.
The news was confirmed by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, which oversees religious and administrative affairs at the sacred sites. Sheikh Maher, beloved for his emotional and heart-penetrating recitation of the Qur’an, is widely respected both in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and across the Muslim world.

The Eid al-Adha sermon, delivered immediately after the prayer, is expected to touch on themes of sacrifice, submission to Allah, unity among Muslims, and the significance of Hajj, as millions gather in Makkah for the pinnacle days of pilgrimage.
Sheikh Maher’s appointment also comes during a season of intense spiritual activity, with the Day of Arafah and Tashreeq days drawing in pilgrims and local residents alike.
Security forces, volunteers, and Haramain staff are already preparing for the Eid crowd, ensuring smooth movement, accessibility, and safety within the mosque complex and its courtyards.
