Actress Jenna Ortega is using her platform to bring awareness to the Palestinian cause. Ortega, who plays Alex in the Netflix series Wednesday, shared her support for Palestine, Yemen, Syria, and Kashmir on Twitter earlier this week.
In a tweet that she pinned to the top of her profile on Twitter, Jenna had asked fans to pray for Palestine before turning their attention to other humanitarian crises worldwide.
“I don’t think people realize how many people are suffering in Gaza,” she wrote in a tweet that has since been liked over 3,000 times. “It’s heartbreaking that anyone has to live like this.” She said, “too many people suffering for people with power to be able to sleep at night.”
Ortega has used her platform to raise awareness of the Palestinian cause and help support those suffering from Israel’s military occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem.
She also exposed two other humanitarian crises: Yemen and Syria (and Kashmir). She wrote in her caption: “Please help us spread this message by sharing this post with everyone you know! Let’s start making change together.”
