Jabal Al Nour, the mountain housing the historic Cave of Hira where the first revelation of the Quran was received by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), has turned lush and green following continuous rainfall in Makkah.
The images show the entire mountain blanketed in greenery, an unusual occurrence for the arid region. Jabal Al Noor, a revered site in Islamic history, is typically characterized by its rocky and barren terrain.

However, the prolonged rainfall has transformed its landscape, aligning it with a notable hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The transformation of Jabal Al Noor has sparked reflections on a hadith recorded in Muslim (157), where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“The Hour will not come until the land of the Arabs returns to being lush and green.”
This hadith has long been referenced in discussions about the signs preceding the Day of Judgment, and the greening of such a historically significant location has prompted widespread discussions among scholars and believers alike.

The rains that led to this remarkable change are expected to continue in the coming days, according to meteorological forecasts. Authorities have advised pilgrims and residents to exercise caution while traveling, as the heavy rainfall may lead to flooding in some areas.

The phenomenon has also added a unique dimension for visitors to the holy city, as Jabal Al Noor’s green covering has made the sacred mountain an even more striking symbol of the transformative power of nature.
