Makkah, Ramadan 05, 1446 AH (March 05, 2025 AD) – As the number of pilgrims and visitors continues to grow during Ramadan, STC Group has expanded its digital infrastructure in and around the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
The upgraded network has recorded a substantial increase in performance metrics compared to last year.
Data traffic volume surged by over 37%, while voice services experienced an increase of more than 18%.
Additionally, the growth rate of the fifth generation (5G) network exceeded 30%, enhancing communication quality and accommodating the continuous rise in data usage—particularly during peak times such as Tarawih and Friday prayers.
Notably, the average data download speed has improved dramatically. Inside the Grand Mosque, speeds increased by 107%, while the Prophet’s Mosque saw a 120% boost.
These enhancements are designed to deliver a distinguished digital service experience, enabling pilgrims and visitors to stay connected and access vital information seamlessly throughout the holy month.
