Hajj 2024 Rules and Regulations

List of health and safety requirements issued for Hajj 2024.

New regulations for Hajj 2024 were introduced. The rules aim to target the health of pilgrims. The safety of pilgrims is the authority’s priority. The updates have been announced by the Ministry of Health.

Hajj Permit

All pilgrims must secure a Hajj permit. They need to use the Nusuk platform for this. The permit is essential for a valid pilgrimage.

Vaccination Requirements

Following are the health requirements Pilgrims must register with the Sehat app. This confirms their vaccination status.

Saudi residents need COVID-19, influenza, and meningitis vaccines within the last five years.

International pilgrims need the Neisseria meningitidis vaccine. 

It should be given at least 10 days before arrival but not more than five years ago. A certificate from their home country is required. They also need a polio vaccine.

Other Conditions

Some other requirements are as follows:

1. Requirement of Valid Passport (Expiry at least 7th June 2024).
2. Age: 12 years or older.
3. Complete vaccination certificate for Influenza, COVID-19, and meningitis.
4. Requirement of a health certificate. This is to verify that the pilgrim is free from infectious diseases.

 The Council of Senior Scholars has issued and statement. This states that performing Hajj without a permit is a sin. These new measures will help the Hajj run smoothly. They will improve the services for pilgrims. The goal is to ensure a safe and meaningful Hajj for everyone.
