An Afghan woman participating in Hajj 2025 has given birth to a baby girl in Madinah, marking the first birth of this year’s pilgrimage season.
The delivery took place at the Maternity and Children’s Hospital in King Salman Medical City after the pilgrim, who had recently arrived from Afghanistan, went into labor. Medical teams responded promptly and ensured a safe and smooth delivery.

Both mother and newborn are in stable condition, according to health authorities. Hospital staff have expressed joy at the birth, informally referring to the child as the “first Hajj baby” of 2025.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that Saudi Arabia’s hospitals are fully equipped and staffed to provide medical support to pilgrims throughout the Hajj season.
Facilities in Madinah, Mecca, and other holy sites are prepared to handle emergencies, routine care, and childbirth when necessary.
