OTTAWA, CANADA – On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Justin Trudeau has extended warm greetings to Muslim Canadians and Muslims worldwide.
During Eid al-Fitr, Trudeau sincerely greeted those celebrating the holiday. In addition to marking the end of Ramadan, he stressed the importance of this holiday in embodying community, compassion, and generosity.
He also emphasized the diversity and strength of Canada’s multicultural fabric by highlighting the contributions of Muslim Canadians.
“As we celebrate Eid al-Fitr, let us remember the important role Muslim Canadians have played in establishing a more inclusive, better Canada,” he said.
Trudeau’s statement comes as Canada’s Muslim population continues to grow, with an estimated 3.2% of the country’s population identifying as Muslim, according to the 2021 Census.
