The organizers of the event, The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), has announced that 1,348 participants from 61 countries—both Arab and non-Arab—will take part in the competition.
Of the total participants, 653 are from 17 Arab countries, while 695 hail from 44 non-Arab countries.
The largest number of participants from comes from the Northwest Africa with 294 contestants, followed by Egypt, Sudan, and Somalia, which collectively account for 218 participants.
Countries in the Western Asia and eastern North Africa regions have 98 contestants, and 43 participants represent the Persian Gulf nations.
The competition will see 100 participants selected by a judging committee to compete in a qualifying round held in Doha, broadcasted over 20 TV episodes.
Each episode will feature five contestants, with only one advancing to the semi-final stage, which will consist of 20 finalists. An additional five backup competitors will also be chosen through five more episodes.
The competition will conclude with the final stage, where five contestants remain, and the top three winners will be announced. The grand prize for first place is QR500,000, with QR300,000 awarded to the second place and QR100,000 for the third.
The award aims to discover and nurture exceptional reciting talents, introduce them to a global audience, honor creative reciters, and encourage younger generations to deepen their understanding of their faith and responsibilities within Islam.
