On March 6, 2025, Saudi Arabia achieved a historic milestone as 500,000 Umrah pilgrims entered Masjid al-Haram in Makkah in just one day.
Authorities credited the breakthrough to the integration of cutting-edge AI-powered crowd management systems and real-time sensor data, which effectively optimized movement in critical zones such as the Mataf and Mas’a.

Since 2022, annual Umrah visitors have surged by 58%, driven by continuous investments—totaling $1.3 billion—in upgrading the infrastructure of the holy sites.
Following the previous annual record of 13.5 million pilgrims in 2023, the extraordinary daily numbers recorded on March 6, 2025.
