Select Language:

Recent heavy rainfall, dust storms, and thunderstorms have led to severe disruptions in Makkah and the broader Gulf region, resulting in a red alert issued for the area.

The Civil Defense has been closely monitoring the situation to ensure public safety.

In Al-Jumum, a valley near Makkah, flash floods have washed away camels, cattle, and other materials, as shown in footage shared by Storm Centre.

Despite the adverse weather, Umrah pilgrims have continued their rituals around the Holy Kaaba, braving heavy showers and strong winds.

The intense rainfall has caused significant flooding on roads in Makkah, creating dangerous conditions for drivers. Motorists are advised to be extremely cautious as water levels remain high and traffic conditions are challenging.

The situation remains fluid as authorities work to manage the impacts of the severe weather and ensure the safety of both residents and visitors.
