No one loves you like your mother. She carried you through every difficulty before you could even walk. She held you when you cried. She fed you when you could not hold a spoon. She stayed awake so you could sleep.
She worried about you when you did not even know what worry meant. Islam gives her the highest rank.
When a man asked the Prophet who deserved his best treatment, he said your mother three times before mentioning your father. And Allah taught you exactly what to say for her.
Dua To Recite For Mother
This dua comes directly from the Quran in Surah Al-Isra, verse 24. Allah instructs you to pray for your parents with these beautiful words.

Arabic:
رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Transliteration:
Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayani saghira
Meaning:
“My Lord, have mercy upon them as they raised me when I was small.”
Now, you’re asking Allah to repay her love with His mercy. You can’t give her back the sleepless nights or undo her worries, but you can ask Him to shower her with kindness.
Now, you’re asking the All-Powerful to be strong for her. It’s a beautiful exchange. Her weakness met your need then, and your dua meets her need now.
How many times should you recite this dua?
- Recite this dua every single day, multiple times a day.
- Say it whenever you think of your mother, whether she is alive or has passed away.
- Make it a habit after every prayer to include this supplication for her.
