Al-Yasira (Al Ihn) Well From Which The Prophet PBUH Drank

Prophet Muhammad PBUH named this well Al-Yasira and also perforumed ablution with its’ water.

The well is located within the dwellings of Bani Umayah from Al-Ansar, carved into rocks and lined with matching black stones. Its proximity to both the Prophet’s Mosque (3 km) and Quba Mosque (1 km) in the Al Aalyia (Aliat) area.

The Prophet visited the well, performed ablution with its water, making it a blessed site touched directly by the Prophet.

Name Change

The well’s original name was “Al-Asira” (meaning “the difficult matter”). Following his practice of renaming places with negative connotations to ones with positive meanings, the Prophet changed its name to “Al-Yasira” (meaning “the easy matter”).

The well’s water is described as fresh and sweet, enhancing the growth of palm trees, pomegranates, grapes, and lemons in its orchard.
