- More than 38,600 donations helped Msajidona quickly raise SR1.7 million for mosque construction while a separate Ehsan campaign funds water supplies.
Public support has produced roughly SR1.8 million (about $477,463) in donations to honor Mohammed Al-Qasim, the 20-year-old who was fatally stabbed in the UK and later buried in Makkah after funeral prayers at Masjid al-Haram.
The contributions will finance construction of a mosque bearing his name and provide clean water to vulnerable families.
The Road Mosques Care Association, known as Msajidona, collected over SR1.7 million within two days, receiving more than 38,628 donations.
The largest single contribution recorded was SR20,000.
Organisers say these funds are earmarked to establish the Mohammed Al-Qasim Mosque, intended as a lasting memorial and a community worship space.
Separately, a fundraising appeal on the official Ehsan platform raised SR90,057, with proceeds designated for water projects serving families in need across Saudi Arabia.
Together, the two campaigns reflect a mix of local and international generosity in response to the Qasim’s death and burial in the Makkah.
Organizers have begun planning the mosque project and the first phase of water distribution, and they say donors will receive information about timelines and project locations as details are finalized.
Further updates on construction plans and water distribution schedules will be announced by Msajidona and the Ehsan platform as the campaigns move from fundraising to implementation.
