Is Shrimp Halal or Haram?

Shrimp is considered halal in Islam, as it falls under the category of seafood, which is generally permissible.

According to the Quran, all types of food from the sea are allowed, whether they are plants or animals, alive or dead.

“Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water-game and its use for food – for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel…”

(Al-Maidah 5:96)
