While performing Umrah, there are several Duas and Adhkar narrated in the authentic Sunnah that pilgrims can recite to maximize the spiritual benefits of their journey.
By memorizing, understanding, and reciting these supplications, a Muslim can enrich their experience and fulfill the rituals with devotion and mindfulness.
Here are all the important Duas and Adhkar to recite while performing Umrah rituals.
Dua to Recite at Miqaat
Before entering Ihram for Umrah, it is a Sunnah to recite this Tasbih:
This practice was encouraged by the Prophet (peace be upon him) as narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
“The Messenger of Allah prayed Dhuhr with four Rakahs in Madinah, and Asr in Dhul-Hulayfah with two Rakahs. The next morning, he glorified and magnified Allah and recited the Talbiyah with the intention of performing Hajj and Umrah.”
Al-Bukhari, Muslim and Al-Tirmidhi.
Dua To Recite While On The Way to Makkah
As you journey towards Makkah, it is Sunnah to recite the Talbiyah frequently.
Dua During Tawaf

While passing black stone
- Allah hu Akber
As you perform Tawaf around the Kaaba, it is a Sunnah to say “Allahu Akbar” every time you pass the Black Stone.
“The Prophet circumambulated the House and, each time he passed the Black Stone, he pointed to it and said Takbir (Allahu Akbar).”
Narrated by Al-Bukhari.
Between Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone
While walking between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone, it is recommended to recite the following Du’a:
Dua Before Climbing Safa Mountain
Before beginning the Sa’i (the walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah), the Prophet (peace be upon him) recited the verse:
Dua To Recite When On Top Of Mount Safa
Prophet Muhammad PBUH would then climb As-Safa and face the Kaaba, proclaiming the oneness of Allah and reciting:
This Dua was repeated three times, and the Prophet made supplication in between.
Dua To Make Towards and On Top of Marwah
The same Du’a recited at As-Safa is to be repeated at Al-Marwah, without the initial verse from the Qur’an.
The act of climbing both hills and facing the Kaaba serves as a reminder of the endurance and patience of Hajar (peace be upon her), the wife of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and how Allah rewarded her faith.
Dua While Drinking Zamzam Water
Drinking Zamzam water is a significant act during `Umrah, and it is encouraged to make Du’a while doing so. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“The water of Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for.”
Ibn Majah, 3062
This means that one should make sincere Du’a while drinking Zamzam water, asking for the best in this world and the Hereafter.
Dhikr During Tawaf and Sa’i
During Tawaf and Sa’i, it is Sunnah to engage in frequent remembrance of Allah through various forms of Dhikr, such as Tasbih, Tahlil, and Takbir.
While no specific Du’as have been narrated for each round of Tawaf or Sa’i, pilgrims are encouraged to recite from the Qur’an or make Du’as that are close to their heart.
Dua To Recite at The End of Completing Umrah
It is a practice of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to end Tawaf with the following Du’a:
