MAARIB — The Yemeni province of Marib has lost a leading religious educator with the passing of Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-San’ani.
The scholar died on Sunday while teaching a Quran memorization circle at the Noora Mosque in the Rumeilah area, described by close sources as a blessed departure.
Sources reported that Al-San’ani was in his usual teaching position, listening intently to a student’s recitation with the Holy Quran in his hands, when his soul “ascended to its Creator.”
The late scholar earned his PhD with first-class honors. He served as the director of Quranic circles at Noora Mosque and was considered a main pillar in teaching the Quran and educating multiple generations in Marib province.
Dr. Al-San’ani was widely known among students and colleagues for his good character, humility, and dedicated service to his educational and advocacy mission, which earned him high esteem within Yemen’s Islamic educational circles.
