The total number of foreign and domestic pilgrims who performed Umrah in the third quarter of 2024 has reached 6,254,751, reflecting a 35% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Gender and Nationality Breakdown
Male pilgrims comprised 57.4% of the total, while females accounted for 42.6%. Saudi nationals represented 10.7% of all Umrah performers during this period. The number of foreign Umrah pilgrims reached 3,348,512, showing a 29.2% rise compared to Q3 2023. Among them, males accounted for 51% (1,707,514 pilgrims) and females for 49% (1,638,743 pilgrims).
Domestic Umrah pilgrims totaled 2,906,239 in Q3 2024, marking a 42.4% increase year-on-year. Of these, Saudi nationals numbered 671,729 (23.1%), while non-Saudis accounted for 2,234,510 (76.9%). Male domestic pilgrims made up 64.8% (1,883,199), with females constituting 35.2% (1,023,040).
Age Distribution
The report revealed that among foreign pilgrims, the largest group was aged 35–44, making up 17.6%, while the smallest proportion, at 9.2%, was over 65 years old. For domestic pilgrims, the 30–39 age group dominated, representing 29.2%.
In Q3, August recorded the highest number of single-time Umrah performers from within Saudi Arabia, accounting for 40.1% of the total pilgrims.

The report also provided a breakdown of visa types used by foreign pilgrims in Q3 2024:
