Three years after he set off from his home country for Islam’s holiest place, Saheed, a South African, made a record after reaching Makkah on foot.
According to the report, the man traveled through several African and European countries before reaching his destination.
After starting his journey on August 30, 2018, he walked through Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan, Egypt, and Palestine, where the COVID-19 border lockdown forced him to halt.
As a result of the reopened border, the man continued walking through Jordan, Medina, and Mecca before reaching Mecca after more than a year in Palestine.
A Cape Town resident, Saheed, said he would travel back by foot after the Hajj.
Shortly after arriving in Saudi Arabia, he spoke to reporters about his experience.
