Sheikh Salah Al Budair, Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Al Nabawi, touched down in Kuala Lumpur early Tuesday.
His arrival launches “The World Quran Symposium 2025,” hosted by Malaysia’s Islamic Development Department (JAKIM).
The event runs August 7-10 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair, Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque, represents the Saudi religious authority at Malaysia’s global Quranic event. Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, he was received by Saudi Ambassador Mosaad Al-Sulaim and Malaysian religious officials.

Malaysia’s Islamic Affairs Minister Dr. Mohammad Naim Mukhtar and Islamic Development Director Dr. Sirajuddin Suhaimi were among those welcoming him.
High-level meetings, delivering Putra Mosque’s Friday sermon, and scholarly lectures comprise this visit promoting moderation and stronger Islamic ties per the ministry.
Security teams deployed extra personnel around the venue, noted local media.

Lead Friday Prayers at Mosque Negara in Malaysia

Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair, Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque, led Friday prayers at Kuala Lumpur’s National Mosque during his visit for the International Quran Symposium. His sermon focused on Muslim unity, rejecting division, and fostering compassion:
“Unite for Allah, love each other for His majesty, and cooperate in righteousness.”
He emphasized mercy’s virtue—stating Allah favors those who benefit others—while warning against harshness and fault-finding. Al-Budair urged repentance, highlighting life’s brevity and the need to seek redemption before time lapses.
The sermon drew large crowds, offering divine guidance and a call for societal reform through mercy.
Quran Symposium 2025 in Kuala Lumpur

Sheikh Dr. Salah Al-Budair, Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque, delivered the keynote at the 2025 World Quran Symposium in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
The event, hosted by Malaysia’s Religious Affairs Ministry, was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Religious Affairs Minister, and prominent scholars.
Sheikh Al-Budair, addressing Malaysia’s Deputy PM and Religious Affairs Minister at the Kuala Lumpur Quran Competition, emphasized Saudi Arabia’s historic commitment to serving Islam under King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He declared the Quran essential for the nation’s salvation—a source of knowledge, moral guidance, and enlightenment—stating: “Salvation lies in adhering to Allah’s Book; influence comes only through embodying its morals. The Quran is life’s light; the Sunnah clarifies its rulings.”
Visit To The Quran Publishing Complex in Malaysia
Sheikh Al-Budair visited Malaysia’s Quran Publishing Complex, where director Sheikh Abdullah Sobhi Mar’i and officials received him.

He inspected the Quran printing process, production methods, careful proofing, and modern technologies used to serve the Quran, praising the facility’s international distribution efforts.
Concluding the visit, he stressed supporting high-quality Quran printing and global multilingual distribution to ensure it remains a beacon of guidance for Muslims worldwide.
