The rules help workers fulfill their religious duty while making sure businesses can keep running smoothly.
In a new directive from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Saudi Arabian companies are now required to grant paid leave to employees undertaking their first Hajj pilgrimage. Workers can take 10 to 15 days off with pay, including the Eid al-Adha holidays.
Eligibility Conditions:
- Minimum two years continuous service with employer
- One-time leave entitlement during employment
- Employers may regulate staff numbers based on operational demands
“This shows how we value both faith and work in Saudi Arabia,” said a ministry official. Employees should plan ahead and tell their bosses early when they want to take this leave.
For Hajj 2025, many workers are expected to use this benefit. The system protects employees’ jobs and pay while they’re away on pilgrimage. Companies that don’t follow these rules may face fines or other penalties.
