For Hajj 2025 preparations, the General Administration for the Services of Persons with Disabilities at the Agency for the Care of the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque has launched an exceptional service package to support pilgrims with disabilities, ensuring ease and dignity in worship during their pilgrimage.
Key services include:
- 10 Dedicated Prayer Rooms: Located throughout the Prophet’s Mosque, with 3 each in the northern, western, and eastern expansions, and one additional prayer space—each carefully placed near doors for ease of entry and exit.
- Prayer Room for the Deaf and Mute: Situated on the western roof of the mosque, this room can accommodate up to 100 worshippers and is equipped to follow sermons in sign language.
- Electric Elevators: Installed to help people with disabilities access the mosque’s rooftop and upper areas comfortably.
- 2,500+ Free Mobility Carts: Available to worshippers via the Doors Management Office in the mosque courtyards.
- Accessible Parking: Specially allocated parking spaces for people with disabilities to reduce commuting strain.
- Wheelchair-Friendly Infrastructure: Ramps at entrances and external courtyards to support the movement of wheelchairs and carts.
- Accessible Restrooms: Modified facilities in both men’s and women’s sections, taking into account the needs of elderly and disabled individuals.
- Childcare Support: Dedicated shelves and features in women’s restrooms to support mothers and caregivers attending with children.
Saudi Arabia continues to ensure that pilgrims of all abilities are supported and empowered to perform their religious duties during Hajj with safety, respect, and comfort.
