Emirati pilgrim Abdul Majeed Abdul Rahman Al Mualla has passed away in Mecca shortly after completing Umrah rituals performed on behalf of his son, who died days earlier in a traffic accident.

Al Mualla traveled to Makkah to pray and seek blessings for his deceased child, performing an Umrah amid profound personal loss.

Funeral prayers will be held at the Grand Mosque, following which Al Mualla will be buried in the historic Al Mu’alla Cemetery—alongside the final resting place of many of the Prophet’s companions and family members.

The Emirati community in Mecca and Saudi authorities have coordinated to facilitate funeral arrangements and provide support to the grieving family.

No official cause of death has been released, though preliminary reports indicate Al Mualla passed away peacefully in his hotel following the completion of his religious duties.
