Pakistan Super League (PSL) has caused controversy after the announcement of partnering with KFC. The announcement has triggered the Pakistan-wide trend #BoycottPSL.
The announcement got criticisms from the fans, the public, and the players.
The #BoycottPSL movement rapidly gained traction as Pakistani supporters voiced their disapproval, highlighting KFC’s affiliation with Israel. With the Israeli-Palestinian conflict intensifying, emotions are running high, making the selection of sponsors a delicate matter.
KFC’s Ties to Israel
KFC is owned by Yum! Brands, also own other bands such as Pizza Hut, The Habit Burger Grill, and Taco Bell. But, Yum! Brands are the ones providing free food to Israeli soldiers, who are involved in brutalities against Palestinians.
KFC is also currently at the top of brands to boycott.

People took to platform X to show their disapproval of seeing KFC as the sponsor of PSL;
PSL has revealed additional sponsors for the upcoming season, with TikTok, Osaka Batteries, and Tapal Danedar partnering with KFC to support the league.
