MEDINA — Sheikh Faisal bin Abdul Malik Nauman, a senior Muadhin (caller to prayer) at Masjid An-Nabawi, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2025.

The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Prophet’s Mosque announced the passing and extended condolences to Sheikh Nauman’s family and colleagues.

During his service, Sheikh Nauman witnessed multiple expansions of the Prophet’s Mosque and called prayers during historic gatherings, including Ramadan night prayers attended by millions.

Funeral

Funeral prayers were conducted at the mosque followed by burial in Al-Baqi cemetery.

Funeral prayer took place after the Fajr prayer in Masjid an Nabawi.

Sheikh Nouman’s grandfather served as Muadhin at Prophet’s Mosque, and his father was appointed to this role at just fourteen.

Sheikh Nouman’s father served as Muadhin of Prophet’s Mosque for decades, calling believers to prayer until his passing after age ninety — continuing the family’s multi-generational legacy of sacred service.

Sheikh Faisal Nouman (may God have mercy on him) served 25 years as Muadhin of Prophet’s Mosque with sincerity and humility (1422–1447 AH / 2001–2025 CE).
