All mosques under the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) and the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) have been instructed to organize absentee funeral prayers for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was reported killed today.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, stated that both departments are to take further action upon receiving more details.

JAKIM oversees a vast number of mosques across Malaysia, with approximately 6,850 mosques registered under its management. Some prominent mosques include:

Iranian state television confirmed Haniyeh’s death, noting that an investigation into the assassination is underway, with results to be announced soon.
