Next month, the Huffaz Gathering will unite 24,000 Quran memorizers from across Malaysia at the Federal Territory Mosque in Kuala Lumpur.
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced this event, highlighting its aim to build on the success of last year’s 23,000 Huffaz Gathering.
The gathering event will be under supervision of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
“In the previous year, we gathered 23,000 Maahad Tahfiz students. This year, our goal is to bring together 24,000 individuals. Insya-Allah, we aim to gather 25,000 participants next year,” Zahid stated during his speech at the state Kemas Pre-Tahfiz programme, held at Dewan Besar Taman Agropolitan Rantau Manis.
Zahid emphasized that the programme demonstrates the Unity Government’s strong commitment to upholding Islam, reflecting the Prime Minister’s dedication to ensuring Islam remains integral to governance.
As the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Zahid also noted that despite the current government comprising 18 politically diverse parties, there is unanimous support for the MADANI government’s initiatives in promoting Islamic teachings.
“Claims that Islam is being threatened or marginalized, or that the government does not prioritize Islam, are unfounded and false. I have been entrusted with this responsibility and have fulfilled it to the best of my ability,” he asserted.
