Itikaf 2026 Registration Opens at Masjid al-Haram and Nabawi

Online applications for Itikaaf begin February 20, 2026 with selections based on capacity and confirmation via SMS.

Registration for Itikaf at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi opened on February 20, 2026 (3 Ramadan 1447 AH) at 11:00 AM.
Applicants must register online through the official portal and will receive SMS confirmation if selected.
Itikaf begins on Ramadan 20 and concludes on Ramadan 30, covering the final ten days of the holy month.

The authorities at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah have opened online registration for the observance of Itikaf during the final ten days of Ramadan 1447 AH.

Registration Details:

Registration Opens: February 20, 2026 (Ramadan 3, 1447 AH) at 11:00 AM.
Itikaf Starts: March 9, 2026 (Ramadan 20, 1447 AH).
Itikaf Ends: March 19, 2026 (Ramadan 30, 1447 AH).

Who can register?

Must be a Saudi national or hold Iqamah
At least 18 years old
Both Men and Women.

How to Register

Prospective participants must complete the registration process through the official online portal:

Access the Website: Visit the dedicated Itikaf registration page at: https://eservices.alharamain.gov.sa/ips/itikafRequests/create
Log In: Create an account or log in using the “Nafath” national authentication portal for citizens and residents.
Select Location: Choose whether you wish to observe Itikaf at the Grand Mosque in Makkah or the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
Submit Application: Agree to the terms and conditions, complete the required personal data, and submit the request.

The registration portal became active at 11:00 AM on Friday, 3 Ramadan 1447 AH, corresponding to February 20, 2026.

Itikaf, the Sunnah practice of secluding oneself in the mosque for continuous worship, reflection, and Quran recitation, holds special significance during the last ten days of Ramadan as Muslims seek Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree). The seclusion period will begin at the start of Ramadan 20 and conclude on Ramadan 30.

Selection and Confirmation

Due to limited capacity at both holy sites, all applications will be reviewed. Selections are made based on available space and organizational requirements. Successful applicants will receive a text message (SMS) confirmation on their registered mobile number.
