What Happens After Arafah Day?
After sunset on 9 Dhul-Hijjah, pilgrims proceed to Muzdalifah, combine Maghrib and Isha, collect pebbles, and stay overnight. On 10th Dhul-Hijjah, they stone the largest Jamarat, offer sacrifice, shave head, and perform Tawaf al-Ifadah in Makkah. The following three days (Tashreeq) include stoning all three pillars in Mina. Hajj concludes with Farewell Tawaf.

How many pilgrims are performing Hajj 2026?
Over 2.5 million pilgrims from more than 180 countries are expected to perform Hajj 2026, making it one of the largest Hajj gatherings in history.
What happens after Arafah?
After the Day of Arafah (9th Dhul-Hijjah), pilgrims proceed as follows:
Night of Muzdalifah (after sunset on 9th): Pilgrims move from Arafah to Muzdalifah, combine Maghrib and Isha prayers, spend the night under the open sky, and collect pebbles for the stoning ritual.
10th Dhul-Hijjah (Eid al-Adha): Pilgrims return to Mina to stone the large Jamarat pillar (Jamarat al-Aqabah), offer the sacrificial animal (Qurbani), shave or cut their hair (partial exit from Ihram), and then go to Makkah to perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and Sa’i.
11th–13th Dhul-Hijjah (Days of Tashreeq): Pilgrims remain in Mina and stone all three Jamarat pillars each day after midday.
When does Hajj 2026 end?
Hajj 2026 officially ends on Saturday, 30 May 2026 (13th Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH). On this final day, pilgrims complete the last round of stoning the Jamarat in Mina and then perform the Farewell Tawaf (Tawaf al-Wada) at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah before departing.
