The Presidency of Religious Affairs temporarily closed the Grand Mosque’s library in its second Saudi expansion phase.
This decision is effective immediately, to conduct maintenance and development work as part of a plan to make visitor services.
The project is coordinated with the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
The library, a critical resource for scholars and worshipers, will undergo structural upgrades, including modernizing reading spaces, expanding digital archives, and improving accessibility.
The second Saudi expansion, which houses the library, remains a focal point for development due to its strategic location near key prayer areas.
While the library is closed, alternative resources will be made available at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina and through the Presidency’s digital platforms.
The duration of the closure depends on project progress, with updates to be shared soon.
