For many travelers, an in-flight glass of wine or beer is part of the journey. But on these ten airlines, you won’t find a single drop of alcohol—by policy, religion, or national law, they fly completely dry.

1. Saudia (Saudi Arabian Airlines)

Saudia, as Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier, adheres to the Kingdom’s alcohol ban, offering exclusively non-alcoholic drinks—tea, coffee, juices, and soft drinks—in all classes.

2. Kuwait Airways

Kuwait’s national airline enforces a strict no-alcohol policy in accordance with local customs. Passengers can enjoy water, sodas, and traditional Arabic teas throughout their flight.

3. Iran Air

Under Iranian law, serving alcohol is banned. Iran Air provides a full range of halal meals paired with soft drinks, coffees, and traditional Iranian beverages like doogh.

4. Libya Wings

Libyan Airlines adheres to national regulations prohibiting alcohol. The carrier focuses on Mediterranean-inspired non-alcoholic refreshments, from mint lemonade to date juice.

5. Sudan Airways

In line with Sudan’s Islamic laws, no alcoholic drinks are available. Passengers receive complimentary tea, coffee, and an assortment of fruit juices.

6. Iraqi Airways

Following Iraqi regulations, this government airline does not serve alcohol. In its place, travelers can choose from a selection of hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks.

7. Ariana Afghan Airlines

Afghanistan’s national carrier bans alcohol under both company policy and national law. The in-flight menu features chai, soft drinks, and local fruit juices.

8. Royal Brunei Airlines

Brunei’s full-service airline respects the Sultanate’s strict Islamic code. Passengers are offered local refreshments such as pandan tea alongside international soft drinks.

9. Biman Bangladesh Airlines

Bangladesh’s flag carrier discontinued alcohol service decades ago. The airline offers tea, coffee, mineral water, and local fruit juices on all flights.

10. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)

PIA removed alcohol from its menu in the 1980s. Travelers are served a variety of teas, coffees, and non-alcoholic beverages—muscat juice is a popular choice.

Why “Dry” Flights?

Most of these airlines are based in Muslim-majority countries where serving alcohol on public transport is either illegal or strictly forbidden by cultural norms. By eliminating alcoholic beverages, they ensure compliance with national laws and respect religious sensitivities.
