Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Haaj, who served as the Fatih (corrector) for the Imams of Masjid Al Haram for over 15 years, has vacated his position to take on a new role.
His absence from the front row during Ramadan this year marks the end of an era, as he has been a constant presence ensuring the accuracy and beauty of Quranic recitations during prayers.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Souli, the spokesperson for the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, will serve as the acting-corrector. He will be supported by regular correctors and Muadhins of Masjid Al Haram, Sheikhs Muhammad Basaad and Abdullah Ba’Afeef.
Sheikh Al Haaj’s dedication and meticulous work have left a lasting impact on the spiritual atmosphere of the Grand Mosque. His role as corrector required him to ensure that the Imams’ recitations were flawless, a task he performed with unwavering commitment and excellence.

As the Muslim community prepares for Ramadan, many will undoubtedly miss Sheikh Al Haaj’s familiar presence. May Allah reward him abundantly for his years of service and grant him success in his new endeavors.
