Madinah Launches Shuttle and Public Transportation Services for Ramadan 2024

Shuttle service will operate from 3 pm until 1 hour after Taraweeh prayers.

Ramadan-The month of fasting holds immense significance for Muslims worldwide. It is considered as a blessed month. Therefore, the count of pilgrims is also mostly multiplied in this holy month.

Ramadan’s preparation is in full swing around the globe. The Madinah Region Development Authority announced that preparations for the “Madinah” bus project, including shuttle services and public transport services, have been completed and will be launched in the holy month of Ramadan in 1445 AH.

During this year’s Ramadan, around 200 modern buses will transport people visiting the Prophet’s Mosque, the Quba Mosque, and various stations in Madinah.

Places where people will be transferred to the Prophet’s Mosque include the Sports Stadium, Durat Al-Madinah, Saeed AlShuhda’, the Islamic University, AlKhaldiha District, and Bani Harithah.

Seven routes have been designated by the authorities for shuttle services to facilitate movement to and from the Prophet’s Mosque. There is also a dedicated station for transportation to and from Quba Mosque.

Shuttle service will operate from 3 pm until 1 hour after Tarawih prayers. During the last 10 days of Ramadan, people can travel after the Qiyam prayer as the shuttle service timings will get extended until 30 minutes after the prayers.

The Madinah bus project, overseen by the authorities, aims to alleviate traffic jams and improve quality of life by minimizing gas emissions and creating a pedestrian-friendly area around the Prophet’s Mosque.

The call for Umrah needs ease of travel too, so people can also register for Umrah through an application named ‘Nusuk’. Moreover, they also change the ‘Rawdah’ carpets for the Ramadan preparations. All these activities are going to be implemented just to facilitate the pilgrims.

It clearly shows how much significance Ramadan holds in the hearts of Muslims.
