MADINAH – Video shows BJP leader Smriti Irani visiting the outskirts of Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque) in Madinah.
Smriti Irani, serving as the Union Minister for Minority Affairs of India, attended the opening session of the third Haj and Umrah conference on Tuesday.
At the event, she dialogued with the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region and the Minister of Haj and Umrah about potential areas for enhanced collaboration to better the services and amenities for Indian devotees.
In addition to her role in Minority Affairs, Irani heads the Union Ministry for Women and Child Development. Her associate at the meeting was V Muraleedharan, the Minister of State for External Affairs.
The party she belongs to is linked with hate crimes against Muslims living in India. At the same time, BJP leaders are seen fueling hate against Muslims in India and globally.
It is to be noted that non-muslims are prohibited from visiting the Prophet’s Mosque.
Irani has voiced her opposition to customs such as triple talaq, a contentious Islamic practice of divorce considered harmful to the rights of women.
A Bilateral Haj Agreement for 2024 was inked between India and Saudi Arabia on Sunday. Under the stipulations of this agreement, India has been assigned a quota of 1,75,025 participants for the yearly Haj pilgrimage in 2024.

This is all a sign of Qayamah, Allah will give us protection from our enemies and give Sabr to all Muslims.
Saudi Arabia which Muslims revere as a holy land is being ruled by opportunists with no principles. India adds millions to their coffer every year by way of trade and religious pilgrimage. Moreover, it has a mighty military power. Arab countries can't afford to antagonise it so they leave no stone unturned to please it, whether it is the construction of temples in the UAE or showering gifts upon its leaders. Smriti Irani's visit to Madinah is a classic example of bootlicking. It is one of the most demeaning examples that has projected Saudis in bad taste. Being the custodian of the holy cities of the Muslim Ummah worldwide, they have committed a criminal breach of trust towards them and must be condemned by all. They earn billions through Muslims every year in Haj and Umrah which is the biggest source of their income. Muslims all over should have the courage to boycott at least Umrah for a year as a symbolic protest to show them how they disliked their decision to allow a group of non-Muslims to the holy city. They will learn their lesson when their revenue will be affected adversely. There must be a check and balance for the Saudi government in the matter of any decision about the twin holy cities of the Muslims.
We must first punish the saudi officials who allowed this anti Muslim criminal to visit.
Shame on the saudis. They have insulted 2 Billion Muslims
Quran-9:28,'Truly the idolaters are unclean; so let them not enter..........' . This basic principle drives the restriction to not allow someone 'not clean' in to a Mosque - be it a Muslim or a Non Muslim. Religiously, the Quran's Surah Al-Tawbah is most commonly cited as the main reason why non-muslims (polytheists/Mushrik/spiritually impure) are banned from entering mosques.
Money and dunya, before Deen and ummah...may Allah guide us all...
