The Saudi Dr. Yahya Koshak, who was the first person to enter Zam Zam well during a major cleaning project in 1979, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, in Saudi Arabia.
He was 80 years old.
Dr. Yahya Hamza Koshak was also a former Director-General of the Water and Sewerage Authority in Saudi Arabia.
The 1979 Major Zam Zam Cleaning Project was one of the major cleaning operations in Zam Zam’s history. The major target was to remove the objects which were slowing the flow of Zam Zam water.
As a result, Dr. Yahya Koshak was the first person to enter the well and led the successful operation. Since then, the flow of Zam Zam well increased.
Back in 1979, He and his team sterilized the Zam Zam well with Ultraviolet rays. He also mentioned it in his book called “Zamzam Food for Taste and the Cure of Sickness.”
The deceased is the brother of the engineer, Dr. Abdul Qadir, the former mayor of the Holy Capital (may God have mercy on him).
