10 Traditions of Prophet Muhammad PBUH That Muslims Should Follow

The traditions of Prophet Muhammad PBUH was summarized in the Hadith. For all of us Muslims, they act as a guide for living. Following are the 10 traditions of our prophet (PBUH) that many of us still try to obey today. 

Before the time of the prophet, this article will provide an outline of life in Arabia. After that, it covers the early life of Prophet Muhammad, opposition, rejection, calls to prophethood, building the Muslim community, emigration towards Medina, the prophets’ death, and success.

These are the traditions that all Muslims must follow; 

10. Sadaqah (Giving Charity)

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was well known for giving charity he daily gave to the poor. He stated that he is not a Muslim whose stomach is full while his neighbors are sleeping hungry.

9. Smiling

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) always used to smile. Prophet Muhammad PBUH graded Smiling is an act of Charity.

8. Self-Reflection

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to go to the cave separate himself and pray. He had a habit of doing self-reflection.

7. Dental Hygiene

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to clean his teeth daily with the help of miswak

6. Drinking Water Slowly

Recent science accepts that drinking water at once can be the reason for headaches and imbalance.

5. Waking up early

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to wake up early for morning prayers. Waking up early scientifically results in better productivity. 

4. Fasting

Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not only fast in Ramadan but also fasted regularly at different times, mostly Mondays and Thursdays. Fasting was his regular tradition.

3. Not sleeping on Stomach

It is one of the most common traditions of Prophet Muhammad PBUH that He (PBUH) taught Muslims not to lie on their stomach as Allah dislikes this position.

2. Dates

Dates are used to help in the preparation of the digestive system. Dates are recommended to break your fast.

1. Praying

It is a compulsory and necessary requirement for Muslims all over the world. There are many prayers that were personally stated by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
