Sheikh Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz al-Sudais was born in 1962 in the city of Al-Bukayriyah, located in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia.
His journey with the Quran began early; he had memorized the entire holy book by the remarkable age of 12.
This early accomplishment set the stage for a life dedicated to Islamic scholarship and service.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais is married to his cousin, Fatima bint Ali al-Sudais.
Together, they have been blessed with a large family of nine children: four sons and five daughters.

His quest for knowledge culminated in a Ph.D. in Sharia from Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah.

He was appointed as an Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah in 1984, a position of immense responsibility and honor that he has held for decades.
Beyond his duties at the Haram, he also serves as the President of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, overseeing the management and services of both Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.
As the Chief Imam and Khateeb of Masjid al-Haram, he leads the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan, and delivers the Friday sermons heard across the globe.
His recitation style is known for its profound emotion and clarity, moving listeners worldwide.
In his administrative role as President of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, he is responsible for the immense operational, maintenance, and expansion projects that ensure the smooth functioning of these holy sites for the millions of pilgrims they host annually.
