Starbucks To Lay off Thousands Of Workers Due To Boycott

The Ashaya Group (AG), one of the biggest franchises in the world, that also operates Starbucks in the Middle East, and other famous outlets, has decided to lay off thousands of people due to intense boycotts from Muslims.

Starbucks’ support for Israel has triggered a row of boycotts, that not just led to layoffs of people but also a significant drop in sales.

AG planning to lay off 2,000 employees to recover from the high losses that the company is facing.

The percentage of employees laid off accumulates to 4% of Alshaya’s total workforce.

AG Group is mainly active with Starbucks in the MENA region. The region where the boycott is strongest.
